We've been told that most people in Montevideo speak no English so I'm sure I'll learn quite a bit of Spanish just by immersion, but I'm trying not to be completely ignorant when I get there. ¡35 Días!
35 days until our plane takes off from Dallas and we begin the next four months of our lives in South America! It's already finals week here at ACU and I can't believe how quickly this semester has gone. I can't believe that in just over a month I'll finally be getting out of the United States for (almost!) the first time! I've always dreamed of traveling and I can't wait to start this next new, adventure-filled chapter of my life. I've started this blog so that I can keep in touch with my friends and family back in the States (I won't be taking my cell phone with me and snail-mail takes a notoriously long time down there) and also so that I can share all of the wonderful things I see and learn while studying abroad. Today I bought a new camera to replace

ReplyDeletei have no idea if you still visit this blog or not but i just wanted to say that this is the only blog i've seen of a study abroad student in montevideo, uruguay and i'm really excited to read it! i am studying abroad in montevideo fro march- december and this is the only study abroad blog i've been able to find after searching for a whole month!
i hope i don't seem stalkerish as i'm about to go through and read your whole blog but it looks really interesting and i'm just trying to find out all about montevideo so i'm prepared when i get there. you might mention it somewhere in one of your posts but what university did you go to? i'm going to be studying at universidad de montevideo (its near the catolica). :)
